Julia Swain is a cinematographer based in Los Angeles known for her emotion-driven imagery that consistently seeks to portray the human experience. From narrative features and shorts, to music videos and commercials, Swain has shot for an array of clients including National Geographic, MTV, Samsung, Coca-Cola and ARRI. Swain holds an MFA from UCLA's School of Theater, Film and Television. Most recently, she just wrapped shooting her fourth feature film, SPEED OF LIFE, directed by Liz Manashil and starring Ann Dowd and a short film she shot for director Stellan Kendrick, GOODNIGHT, GRACIE, premiered at the prestigious SITGES film festival in Spain. She is finishing up directing a feature documentary celebrating women in cinematography in order to bring awareness to the rising number of women practicing this phenomenal profession. She is a proud member of the International Collective of Female Cinematographers (ICFC).
